Reunion Schedule Change: Submarine Learning Center Print E-mail

I just got a call from Chief Rhodes at the Submarine Learning Center.  An urgent need for some special training for one of the Squadron 11 boats means that we won’t be able to tour the SLC as scheduled.  Chief Rhodes is checking to see if we can be accommodated on Friday afternoon instead.  I probably won’t know the answer to that until sometime tomorrow.  And since we’ll be flying to San Diego tomorrow, I might not be able to find out until a day or so later.

In the meantime I’m asking for Steve Hunt to make arrangements with

Rob Walker (our bus tour guy) to change the “Maritime Museum/SLC” tour to a “Maritime Museum/SSN Tour” with the bus to deliver us to the monument at the submarine base at 1445 on Thursday afternoon, carrying only the SSN tour people on it.  This will mean that the 26 people scheduled for the SSN tour, minus a few, such as Alby Poblete and Tom Malloy, whom I know will be going there independently, will be the bus passengers for the afternoon.  The people originally scheduled for “Maritime Museum/SLC” who AREN’T going on the SSN will be on their own for Thursday afternoon.  Steve should also ask Rob for a quote on a Friday afternoon “SLC only” tour.  In the event the SLC can accommodate us, we’ll throw that open at a rate based on the price Rob quotes.

Sorry about the cancellation, but we’ve known all along that any submarine fleet need for the SLC would supersede our tour.

Gerry
